Richard D. Kaye

 

Richard D. Kaye was Associate Producer of the 1975 GRAMMY AWARD WINNING "Best Children's
Recording" THE LITTLE PRINCE narrated by Richard Burton. In 1986 he purchased the sound recording
from LP Ventures. Since acquiring copyright ownership he has licensed distribution rights to Cassette Book
Company, Newman Communications, BMG Record Club and Warner Bros./Music For Little People. In
2004 he re-issued the CD on rdkRecords and in May 2011 he licensed digital distribution rights to iTunes.

Richard worked as a consultant to SONY/ATV MUSIC PUBLISHING. He served on the Board of
Directors of BROADWAY ON SUNSET and was a music consultant for the Second Annual West Coast
Theatre Conference featuring keynote speaker Julie Taymor. In 2003 he produced a staged reading of
GARBO ...the Musical at the Court Theatre, Los Angeles and in 2010 he was Honorary Associate Producer
of WHEN GARBO TALKS! (a World Premiere Musical) at ICT - Long Beach Performing Arts Center.

d/b/a VIRGIN EAR MUSIC Richard published the Jimmy Osmond international hit song LONG HAIRED
LOVER FROM LIVERPOOL. The million selling gold record stayed at No. 1 on the UK pop charts for six
consecutive weeks and was designated the New Musical Express "Best Selling Single" of its release year.

Richard formed and administrated music publishing companies for the internationally renowned theatre
rock group The TUBES from 1978 to 2002 and was co-administrator of The TUBES/David Foster No.1
Billboard rock song SHE'S A BEAUTY.

Prior to forming his own company he worked with the early BILLY JOEL song catalog as Professional
Manager for HOME GROWN MUSIC. While living in New York City he worked for BUDD MUSIC
CORP. and was an independent record producer for ABC Paramount, Mercury and Capitol Records.

Richard attended Berklee School of Music where he majored in arranging and music composition.
